how did you train your puppy to go on the wizdog? because i just got a shihtzu yesterday and i’ve been trying to potty train her using training pads.

@QTee162 Since I’ve relocated my two Wizdogs since my last video, I’ll post a new video in a few days.

  12. wilspgt Says:

@QTee162 The Wizdog has been very effective. Cooper uses it everyday since I shot the video. As Cooper was growing, so did his pee/poop output. Also, he’s a healthy 15 pounds and he needed the additional room to “dance” just before he poops. :) Just the other day, there were four sets of poop when we got home so I’m very glad I got the second Wizdog. Begin with one Wizdog and see how it works out for your Shih Tzu. I got the Wizdog directly from their website.

hi i wanted to know how well the wizdog is working for you now? does he always use it? ive been looking at other brands and i seem to always go back to this one because of your video. i also have a shih tzu. i notice in your other video you have two. does a shih tzu need two? and did you get it from their website or did you order on amazon? thanks in advance.

@candacetyl Once Cooper arrived at our home, we decided that one of us would take a few days off from work to make sure his potty training would go smoothly as planned. The first few days are important in his potty training so we made sure at least one of us were with him during that time. You’re right, dogs do have short attention span so scolding will be unnecessary. You’ll be surprised at how quickly dogs will know where to potty once a designated area is setup.Sorry to hear about the Wizdog. :(

  16. candacetyl Says:

@wilspgt OK! :) Thank you so much! :D And ermm.. How if no one’s at home and my pup poos/pees on the floor and not the wizdog potty tray? Do I still scold her? Because I’ve read that dogs have a ‘short attention span’ or something like that.. So they cant remember what they did.. AHH! I live in Singapore and the wizdog potty tray does not deliver to Singapore :’(

@momo011088 i dont have a problem with that, but you must. I have a problem with faceless people over the internet challenging me. I love puppies, got a problem with that? Well if you do, let me know MOMO

  18. wilspgt Says:

@candacetyl No worries, Candance……I would set up a fenced boundary at least the size of a small bathroom. Once you set up the fenced boundary, make sure to place the potty tray as far away (opposite) from your puppy’s sleep and food area. Dogs in general don’t like to pee/poop near their sleep area. :) I hope that helps. Wilson.

@candacetyl Luckily Cooper doesn’t bite much either. During his teething period, we made sure that he had something readily available to chew on. I purchased a three pack Nylabone Small Dog Chews Value Pack, Petite, for Dogs up to 15 Pounds. It contains a blue Dental Chew bone, a clear Flexi Chew bone, and an Edible Bacon bone. Petsmart or Amazon sells them. Cooper loves the clear Flexi Chew bone. I provided these bones to Cooper from day one and he’s never chewed on any our furnitures. :)

  20. wilspgt Says:

@candacetyl Cooper surprisingly doesn’t bark much. The only time he barks is when the doorbell rings and at our Hoover vacuum cleaner. :) So we thought, humm….wouldn’t it be nice to train him to bark? So now he barks on command (speak) after a few days of training. How cool is that!! :D

  21. candacetyl Says:

@wilspgt OH OH OH!! ANOTHER QUESTION!! Sorry I’m bombing you with so many questions.. Haha :) But is it better to keep the pup in a fenced boundary or a cage? :)

  22. candacetyl Says:

@wilspgt OH OH! And did Cooper bite? Because he/she was only 7 weeks old and that’s around teething period right? :) Is he/she still biting now? If not, how did you stop her/him from biting? :P THANKS! :D

  23. candacetyl Says:

@wilaspgt OK! :) Thank you! :D Last question before Friday : Does Cooper bark alot? If yes, how do you stop him/her from barking? :D

  24. wilspgt Says:

@candacetyl That’s great…sounds like you have everything you need for your new puppy. When your new puppy arrives, I would keep her in the caged area at least the first day. This will allow the puppy to familiarize herself to her new home and more importantly, the potty tray. :) If you do take your puppy out of the cage area after the first day, just limit the amount of time to 10-15 minutes. Just remember, puppies have small bladders. :) Congratulations and I’m very happy for you.

  25. wilspgt Says:

@candacetyl You’re quite welcome! I’m very happy to share my experience with you and I’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
