never seen a backward roll being taught this way. They usually go down the incline. I have asked my kids to keep their hands by their ears and to push off when they are half way over.

  10. Core4ever10 Says:

This teaches the kids to push with their arms in a backward roll – if you do it down the incline they tend to forget the arms so this is a good drill – and then add the incline roll as a step up – I have my kids do “Pizza pie” with their arms – I ask them to hold 2 pizzas in each hand (hands by ears) and they have to hold it all the way through – it really helps (grin)

i find that doing a backward roll down the incline is the best way to get them doing it right also you can use a spring board with a mat on top to make an incline to roll down the way do it is good but some kids dont like going off the end so i find it better to go down the incline dont know if that helps lol
