Cook Children’s – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The Cook Children’s Medical Center NICU cares for newborns and infants with problems related to premature birth, respiratory failure and conditions requiring surgery. The NICU features specialized equipment, monitoring and lighting and décor that gives premature babies time to grow and develop. Babies may also need specialized care for birth anomalies, respiratory distress or illness, and neurological conditions. Board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners provide 24 hour-a-day staffing.

    Wow lovely video..I am a paediatric nursing student in my first year and i am about to go on my very first placement tomorow to a neonatal unit for 6 weeks and i cant wait now, i was at first a little worried now I understand what all the equipment used is for i am less worried now, i cant wait, god bless all neonatal nurses, xx

    I’m considering going to school to be a neonatologists but the work may be to heart wrenching for me. I love these beautiful miracles but I’m afraid I’ll take my work home with me.

    Oh my goodness! I think it is amazing that you guys can do all of this stuff to the children that have problems. I mean to know that they have someone there is just a blessing to them! I hope that I can be in a NICU that amazing when I am older- since that is what I am wanting to be :) Good job!!!! ^_^

    Praise is certainly due to all the scientists, technicians, researchers, doctors, surgeons, nurses, cleaners, porters and ancillary staff involved. Not convinced God has a great deal to do with it, really. Although having medical insurace is pretty close to a true blessing though . . .

    I go to Cooks for my kidney disese been going scence I was 4 I 15 now and had a transplant but It came back but My mom has made freinds with the nurses up there

    You know, even in this video I have seen MANY MANY blessings.

    Its unexplainable.
