I am a nanny that just started working with this family members fulltime. They have a LOVELY 5 month old. The parent aren’t really all that, how do I say this.. involved in their child’s life. I function 7-3, and they have about three-four other nannies to cover the evenings, nights, and weekends. (Yes.. I know.. so sad!)

The parents have no concept what they’re doing, and they have a quite strict sleep schedule for the baby that is SO wrong.. They wake him up at 7am. He is not permitted to take far more than two naps a day and they are to be NO LONGER than 30 minutes! They do not let him go to sleep until 9:30pm. He is waking up at 1-2am and again at 5. The parents INSIST that if he takes more than two half hour naps that he will not sleep by means of the night, when in all actuality, he’s not sleeping by way of the night as it is. (But they do not genuinely know due to the fact they have an overnight nanny.)

The poor little guy is exhausted all day long. He is so accustomed to being woken up at 30 minutes that he now forces himself to wake up with out really being “awake”.

I have been a nanny for about 4 years now and have worked with a lot of infants. From what I’ve skilled in the past, it seems as though the following strategy really works. Let me know what you think, moms!
