Question by Breanna: How to get my toddler to sleep in his “Big Boy Bed”?
I have a 20 month old son I have had his big boy bed since he was around 12 months. I have had it set up in his room along with his crib. Lately I had been having him lay in his big boy bed a few times a week at nap. I always had to lay with him though otherwise he would climb right out. Yesterday I put my son down for a nap in his crib and he tried to climb out which resulted in him falling very hard to the floor. He now has a black eye and a concussion 
. I have tried in the past to put one of those crib nets on just to be safe but he will not fall asleep with it on there. I took down the crib yesterday because I am to afraid to put my son back in the crib. I tried to have him sleep in his big boy bed last night and it was a disaster he just kept knocking on his bedroom door and crying. After an hour and a half of trying to get him to sleep I put up the playpen in his room and he finally went to sleep. How do I get him used to the big boy bed? Any helpful ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

you may have to nap with him for a while. falling out of the crib scared him but he will get over that in time. be patient and this will work out.

Premature baby development can affect the baby’s ability to breathe, eat, stay warm, react to stimuli, digest and eliminate normally.
All of the above would have had more time to develop if the baby had not been born prematurely. To monitor growth and development, premature baby milestones are based not on when the baby was born, but on the baby’s original due date.
So please next time you meet a parent of a premature baby remember it’s not just that their baby was born earlier or smaller, but also that their baby might have had to fight for life itself. Comments such as oh isn’t he small or isn’t he sitting up yet are not only thoughtless they are hurtful.
Count your blessing that you baby has not had to spend the first several months of his or her life in NICU.

Yes, I live around the corner. It is kind of an indie rocker bar. i would describe the crowd as very typical Lower East Side/Williamsburg – hipster/trendy – but friendly. It is a really good spot and recommend it.

Question by Chow Doctor: Is there an end in sight for our evening “toddler-trot”?
Help!! Our son is 22 months old. We moved him into a toddler bed 10 nights ago, and my husband and I have been consistently returning him to his bed every single time he comes out, which has averaged around 75 (!!!!!) times per night. He eventually grows tire of this “game” and finally falls asleep in his bed from exhaustion, after what seems to be the longest 45 minutes of our lives. So this method IS working, but my husband and I feel that there is no end in sight regarding how long we will have to continue re-inforcing the “silently back-to-bed” rule. For the parents out there who have used this bedtime technique ON A TODDLER, could you please share with us some words of encouragment? My husband and I are at the end of our rope

my son is 3 in may and still doing it. not as much as your son though, but yeah, it takes him a while before he finally goes down. first its his toys. then its a drink. then its this then its that. he just makes up excuses to stay up. but he finally goes down. im not too strict on the silent thing though. we have a lock on his door now that stops him from coming out, coz he just used to wonder out into the lounge rom and hang after we’d already put him to bed…sorry, im not really helping you, but at least you’re not alone! LOL.
